We did a bad thing kind of....gaveBF's brothers both a bottle of wineeach, for them and thier wifes. LOL, Brother in laws new wife informs us she is in AA, and gives us a lecture on drinking alchol. Weare all drinking a beer at the time, lol!

Another good moment was surprisingly poignant. Our son bought an engagement ring and is popping the question New Year's Eve. (She was with her family out of state today.) I give my son an ornament every year, ususally something totally ridiculous. This year I gave him two overlapped silver hearts. I didn't know if he'd like it. He was so touched when he opened it, and it hit him like a ton of bricks that next Christmas he'd be having his own tree in his own home with his wife. He got a bit teary. I said yes, when I take down the tree this year, his ornaments and stocking will be packed to take with him. Next year he can hang his awful sparkly Los Vegas Elvis ornament on his own tree!

Did you have any good holiday laughs?
1. Make sure that you don't "feed" her too much at one time and stand her up for awhile before changing her diaper.
2. Don't ever tilt her while there's no diaper on just to make sure she's done.
3. Make sure you follow feeding with a couple bottles of water and make sure that the water runs clear. That food, if not all out will 'set up' in her digestive tract and bugs love it. (that hint came from a friend that had gotten her daughter one the year before so we lucked out and it never happened here)

My 3 year old GD loves to move the Nativity figures around. She knows she has to be careful with them because one set is very old. In that set, Baby Jesus lays naked in the manger. She thought he was cold so tore up a tissue to make him a blanket. The other set, she places each piece on a step and then moves them to the manger. I was listening to her one day: Mary just had Baby Jesus and she had to take a nap. After her nap, there was a Big Wedding. Mary married one of the Wisemen, and Joseph married a shepherd. I had to tell our pastor our GD's story because that Sunday, he said in the sermon that not much is mentioned of Joseph after the Nativity story in the Bible, but our granddaughter knew what was happening. Please, no offense to anyone. Just a child's version of the story!

I am trying to hold back the laughter as my Grandaughter age 9 is telling me about her dolls their names and ages going to Teachers Conferences sending a third grader back to preschool because she backtalks! She is so serious and funny!

We just had a little funny thing happen. I ordered a pair of winter boots for my DH online, size 11 med. When they came in the mail, they were perfect...except they were a little boy's size 11 med. We had a good laugh. DH said, " I thought that box looked kinda small:-)

My "kids" 47 and 49, grandkids, 22 and 26 went to the hill after we had eaten our Christmas meal, with 4 sleds and had a ball sliding down. Picture my son, weighing "well over" 200 lbs. sliding down on the sled I got when I was 9 or 10 years old. All of them were well past ideal weight, and they were on these small sleds. My daughter caught the action on her camera, even some of their laughter and screams. They even made a bonfire from wood laying on the ground and kept warm. When they finally came in, they were still laughing. When they woke up yesterday morning, they were feeling the effects of their day of fun -- sore muscles mostly from laughing so hard. Dad and I just stayed in the house. He's recuperating from a 4-wheeler accident he had in October and I have "arthur"itis and my bones hurt and I didn't need anything else to happen to me. This is a Christmas they will always remember.

These stories are great! Kids - from toddlers to adult version - definitely added some humor to Christmas.
My 4 year old niece came to our house for a while on Christmas Eve. As she LOVES to snatch everyone's camera, we got her a Fisher Price one of her own. Watching her take pictures with it is hysterical. Of over 1,000 she's taken, very few have actually turned out, but the entertainment value makes it worth it. She doesn't even try to focus it most of the time, just snaps, snaps, snaps. I'm taking a picture of the wall! I'm taking a picture of the sink! I'm taking a picture of the cow's tails! (my brother is a farmer) Everything, including the kitchen sink, is fair game for having a picture taken.
