Yes. One thing to remember. Do not use batting that has scrim on it. The scrim may catch of fire when heated.

so what type of batting to use? what is scrim???

Some cotton batts actually contain a scrim -- a thin sheet of synthetic material that lends stability to the batt. Such batts are said to be "needlepunched" to make hand needling easier. Fairfield Soft Touch is scrim free.

Walmart close to me has it. I'm guessing JoAnn's may have it. Any cotton batting that is labeled 100% natural cotton should be scrim free.
