I'm a Dallas Stars fan but was hoping Chicago would win because I was rooting for Marion Hossa. We used to watch him when he played junior hockey for the Portland Winterhawks. He suffered an injury during the WHL championship, and although the Winterhawks won, his celebration was stifled by his bad leg. It's so nice to see that he has a Stanley Cup victory now too and can fully celebrate with the rest of his team! Hossa's always been an outstanding player and we're really happy for him. (Brayden Coburn, a Phillie Flyer, also played for Portland, but he's young yet.)

A lot of people here are excited for you all - Patrick Kane (who scored winning goal) is from Buffalo. They've been having interviews with his family members all over the news this morning.

Personally, I'm glad hockey season is over for awhile - it is boring to watch (but my dad watches) and the entire season seems to go on and on and on like the energizer bunny.

But...Congrats BlackHawks!!

I'll admit I didn't *watch* any hockey during the season...cause I was sewing while hubby was watching! I Love Hockey! :) LOL

I sewed during the first couple of games. When they were behind in scoring in one game - I wasn't sewing! OH NO! I was 'directed' to 'get in that room and SEW' - No kidding - 3 minutes later - THEY SCORED!!! (Got 200 4patches for a swap DONE and a baby quilt DONE during the playoffs!)

Congratulations to what seems to be a great bunch of regular guys! In their interviews, they seem so down to earth. HECK their Captain is only 22 years old! Good For Them!!!!!! GO HAWKS!!!

It was a noisy night in the Windy City! Lots of fireworks going off and all sorts of stuff...the morning news was following the limo that a few of the players were in and stopping for a couple Jauger bombs (sp?) and then went to Ann Sathers for breakfast at 9 am. One of the guys was the 22 yr old goalie(?)

Jim came home about 7 minutes after they got it. I was laughing and crying at the same time. I am so happy that they got it again after so many years.
