Unhappy Heated Mattress Pad

Received one as a gift.Due to age/arthritis,it helps with aches & pains. The problem is,it doesn't fit well.Every morning it's a bunch of hills & valleys, due to shifting & very uncomfortable. Our old electric mattress pad was made like a fitted sheet & was tight as a drum.

The new one has some whatever on the sides, not fabric, but crinkly like newspaper. There's nothing fitted about it.Tried it for 10 days before returning it.

Does anyone know where to but the fitted type? I'd be so thankful. TIA

oops, missed that! I'll keep an eye out.

Here's another: Just put heated fitted mattess pad into your favorite search engine (I use google) and than check out sites.

Another:

They are out there, you just have to look.

You can get them at Wal Mart though they tend to run a little small. We usually buy ours at Penny's. Those generally have a 5 year warranty. Twice I have been able to get a new one on that warranty after about three years.

Can you put some elastic straps on the corners so that they tuck under/around the mattress? Like 6 inches away from a corner on each side so that it keeps it from shifting?

We use an electric blanket (twin size blanket on queen size bed)under a feather bed on one of our beds. Before we had the feather bed, we had it under a regular mattress pad. It is actually under a mattress pad, under the feather blanket.

Dd's twin sized bed has a fitted heated mattress pad on it. I cannot remember where I bought it, but it is about 5 years old and still works well.

I use my electric blanket OVER my sheet, quilt, and bedspread, turned on High about 3-5 minutes before I get into bed and it warms my bed pretty well. I leave it on medium while I read, then turn it off to sleep. The few times I have forgotten to turn it off, I was too sweaty in the morning or when I did wake up.

I looked for these heated mattress pads a couple years ago and didn't find any under $100. It's nice to see they are more available now as I may have to replace my blanket in a couple years.

I bought a heated mattress pad at bed, bath and beyond for my mom's visit at Thanksgiving. She loved it. I think the brand was sunbeam.

I bought mine at Walmart about two years ago. I just love it.
