My DD is getting married next weekend and I've been trying to find a poem from mother to daughter for wedding day, not having any luck, if I could write something myself I would but not good at doing that. Any ideas would be great.

Quilter2 - Poems can be hard, but I'll bet you could write a letter to her telling her what makes her special to you and what you wish for her. Perhaps include a couple special memories from her childhood. I am sure that she would appreciate that just as much as a poem, as long as it comes from your heart.

Yes, Yes, lots of cool poems there, enjoy!

Would be cute to put on a poem on a quilt label

I also added the home page for the poems link under the link section of this site to use for quilt labels

I have a book of poems for my daughter... I hope this is something you have in mind...
Daughter,I will always be here with love for you...

Did you know that I loved you long before you were born?
When I first held you in my arms, one of my childhood dreams came true.
I remember staring at your perfect features and feeling thrilled at each new sound and expression.
A fierce need to protect you came over me then, and it has never gone away.
When you were a child, I was able to hold you close through illness
and heartache.
I could hold your hand as you faced new experiences, and my presences
and guidances seemed to assure you of a certain level of safety.
But little by little, I have had to let you go and allow you to make your own way.
So often I wanted to call you back and have you stay in the protective circle of my arms.
I never wanted you to have to face injury or heartache,
yet I knew that you had to in order to grow.
Now you are making your own decisions.
Just remember that no matter what, I love you.
I could never stop loving you.
You are the hugs and smiles from my past,
the hopes and dreams of my future.
Take care, my daughter, and know that you are never alone.
We are connected by the strongest bond there is:
the love between parent and child.

Here's one more....

Daughter, You Are So Precious To Me

when you came into this world and into my life, so many beautiful things happened. Although I was the one holding you, you were the one enfolding so many of my hopes and dreams. Although I was the one who was supposed to teach yo all the things to do as you grew up, you were the one who taught me- constantly- of my capacity to love, to experience life in its most meaningful way, and to open my heart wide enough to let all those joyful feelings inside.

If ever you wonder if anyone cares, know that the love I have for you transcends time and bridges any distance imaginable. Remember: If you ever need me, I will always be there... Nothing will ever be as strong as my love and my thankfulness.... for you.

I hope these help. Congrats on the wedding!!

Thanks everyone for your ideas, I'll work on this and maybe take parts from each one or maybe scratch it off as bad idea.

I wrote letters to my daughters and step daughter for their wedding day. Just telling them how special they are and how proud I am of them.

I got a call from my step daughter saying how special it made her feel (she was 2 when she came into my life, so I have been there a LONG time).

My daughter told me not to do it- she didn't want to cry but I did it anyway. She says I am too mushy.
