Default Home Fires on PBS

This is a great Masterpiece series. I finished series one waiting for series two. Excellent actors, beautiful vintage setting, and great story line.

I started to watch it as I do like historical fiction, but then it didn't "grab me".... Maybe I'll check it On Demand and see if I can get interested....thanks for the reminder.

I didn't catch it when it was on. My local PBS station is repeating the whole Downton episodes starting with season 1. It is great to see the first episode again and seeing how the clothes and the hairstyles were in the first season.

I'd rather be quilting.

I concur. Does anyone know when season two will begin?

I like the period pieces from PBS and I really liked Home Fires. The characters are wonderful. My favorite scene is when the writer/husband/abuser left town and as the wife walked away from seeing him off- her smile got bigger and her steps lighter as she walked away! Free at last!!!!

I love British TV, but somehow I missed this. Thanks for the tip!

My ex MIL, a dear British lady, was in England during WWII. I always loved hearing her stories.
