A friend of my DD, college graduate, told me that animals that are hunted for meat are real animals that need to live free. Cows and chickens aren't hunted so they are okay to butcher for meat. This loon in now teaching 3rd grade. Parents don't have a clue to what thoughts many young teachers are passing on to kids.

That's funny. Though if grocery store meat has many more additives in it, it will have to be classified as a 'made' product.

My dogs think their raw meat comes from the white box in the kitchen.

I love seeing the animals run wild. There are deer, quail, wild turkey, fox, domestic dogs, domestic cats, etc. here. And cayotte, mountain lion, bear, bob cats and man. It's part of the natural world. It's sad, but yes, I'm a part of the preditors.

RIGHT!! and I am sure this same person thinks that milk just comes from the store or if they do really know that milk comes from a cow, that chocolate milk comes from a chocolate cow. And to think that these people reproduce and will be taking care of some of us one day-shudder the thought - I taught school for 20 plus years and the last 19 taught 1st grade. I hope that I taught my students enough to know better than this and that none of my students are that far gone!!
