How to find flashdrive on pc?

I just put a flashdrive into the usb slot on my pc but nothing happened.
How do I open it and use it?

Click on start, then computer - the drives show up there. You can then click on it to open the contents of it.

It should say "removable drive "X" (letter will be different) good luck.
