spend on yourself. not cooking cleaning helping someone else actually on yourself doing something that gives you the greatest pleasure and do you to it in hours or is it just a few minutes a day? this does not include personal grooming it is the time you are doing what gives you joy and I don't mean playing with the grandkids or such and are you left to it or are you constantly interrupted like what you want to do isn't important

I get me time from 6:30am to 9am, unless I over sleep. No one around here gets up til 9am so it is nice and quiet and I can sew or sit and read the QB without interruption.

I get from 4:45 Am to 5:15. The rest of my day is filled with work, DD, DH, job #2 and then cooking and cleaning. If I'm really lucky I get an hour or so at night to sew.

What a difference a couple of years can make! For most of my life, there were blind parents, brother and sister, then husband, then three kids - meaning I rarely could find time for just me. Now, since I lost my husband a couple of years ago, and the children are grown and in their own homes (with 2 grandsons), for the first time in my life I do have time for me. And while I'm not crazy about HOW I got here (by becoming a widow) I do have to say that I'm never bored and love being able to do whatever I want when I want (except for working full time, and taking care of grandsons once a week).
