Many times there are recipes or jokes or something else on this board that I want to print out. If I just hit the print button, the whole post will print, sometimes pages and pages. I've tried to highlight just the part I want, but the computer still does not just print the highlighted area. Can someone help me out? Thanks.

You can highlight the part you want---then copy & paste into Word or even a new email message! Then print!

Great minds! 1 second apart!!

Highlight your selection
right click on it
choose print
when the print box appears, click on selection, then it will only print the highlighted portion

For some reason this does not work for me on this computer! UGH!! So I do it the way I said. Your way would be quicker.

OK, I figured it out!

On most PCs if you highlight the area you want to print and then right click on that, there will be an option that says Print Selection. On my PC, this shows up on the right click menu rather than on the print screen.

Another option is to go to File > Print (so it would print everything), then when the print screen shows up select the option to print this page only or only page X (the page number you want). Saves you from having to copy/paste.

Thank you so much everyone. I learn so much from all the lovely people on this board.

Before I tried the copy and paste (into Word or e-mail) method, I thought I would try amma's suggestion, but it did not work for me.

Then I tried oatw13's suggestion which almost worked, but my computer had a couple other options, and what finally worked was: File > Print > Selection (meaning only the highlighted part) > Apply (meaning the selected part) > Print. Seems to me there is an extra step or so, but it worked, so I wrote it down for future reference.

In the meantime, I printed out everything all of you suggested, so that if ever necessary, I can use the Word or e-mail methods. You all saved me loads of ink and paper!
