You know, I was thinking this same thing last month when we hit 29 years for John Lennons murder....what would he have become?? He had just begun to find himself emotionally again, was confidant, and started recording again...and as a political force, he had such ideas....John Lennon, elder statesman....

oooh.... Elvis i loved him when i was about 15..i wish i could travel back in time and go to one of his concerts when he was young!I have a lot of his records and if he was around today i would hope he was like Tony Bennet..he is such a happy guy and loves what he does, we could all learn from him..and such a gentleman and there arent too many true gentlemen around today ...

If you listen to a broad range of his music...and he sure had one...he really did have a good voice.
I think he was one sexy, handsome, charismatic charmer, but after a while, he was a lousy husband.
If he had not gone the way of drugs etc. and gotten a handle on his weight, I think he could have gone on to do the types of movies he really wanted to do.
I think he would have definitely evolved with the times and would most certainly still have a following. There are so many entertainers out there, I am not sure he would be as big as he has been since death.
Whatever he was or wasn't, no one will ever really recreate him, he was truly, one of a kind.

I agree it is very sad for a daughter to grow up not knowing her father. I don't know when Lisa Marie's birthday is, but I bet she thinks of him.
Actually, I bet she thinks of him everyday of her life.

I loved Elvis growing up as a teen and I still love him to this day. I also agree about Lisa Marie not knowing her father is terrible, but I did not have a father growing up, in fact I didn't even have a mother. My grandmother had to be mother and father to me. While I wish I could have had a "normal" childhood with both a mother and father, but I'm so thankful for my dear grandmother who did everything in her power to raise and care for me. She has gone on to be with the Lord, but I can still hear her voice and see her face today. Let us all say a prayer for all the children today that are growing up without a father and sometimes a mother also. I can speak from experience that it's a pain that never goes away.

Ok, you girls asked for it---Elvis would still be the king today--he would transition with the times to a certain degree just like he did back then. His voice was amazing--his range was phenonimal. He was gorgeous with eyes that sparkled and a smile that still melts my heart. I also think he would & should have been an actor. He was doggone good at it. I am talking about movies like Jailhouse Rock, King Creole and Charro. Honestly, 3 things destroyed him---His mama's death was the beginning---then he actually got into drugs in the army--they gave them to the guys on duty, and third was the fact that since his mama, he never had anyone who would stand up to him about the drugs & Dr. Nick just did what he asked, as well as the other docs he saw. If she had lived, I think he would still be with us today. Can you guess I am an avid fan? I miss him terribly but he is with his mama now and that gives me some comfort. I know it was not easy for Lisa Marie because I lost my dad at the same age, but I am sure that her family and his friends have given her the insight of knowing her father. Mine did.

Don't hit me, but i was never a fan of Elvis..i loved some of his music..most of the slower/softer ones..

It is hard to believe he would of been 75! Where the heck does the time go?!

I did make an Elvis Quilt for a friend of mine...who is a Big Elvis fan! I enjoyed making it for her..it was a surprise..and boy was she tickled with it!
