We have just had out first feeder bands from the hurricane going up the coast. My hope is that it takes a hard turn to the right and doesn't hit land anywhere.

I am hoping for that also!! The people in the East have had enough to deal with this year without a hurricane to top it off!!

Hope all is well with you all!!

Question, I live a long way from the coast. What are feeder bands?

PS I hope it turns too. There has been too storms that have cause so much damage this year.

bands of rain are the first thing you get before the hurricane they are circles around the storm of rain and wind. This is a really broad storm. I think they said it was 200 miles across.

Feeder bands are the outer bands of the hurricane which when they are over water draw up more energy and warm water from the warm ocean. . The hurricane swirls in a counterclockwise circle and the outer swirls are the feeder bands. Luckily for us in Florida, this storm is well off shore from us so we are only getting rains and higher than normal (but hopefully not very strong) winds.
