Have a new hair cut and need mousse/gel stuff to look pretty (((LOL))). Anyone using stuff that's gentle on skin. My hands are breaking out from Suave styling products but not the shampoo. Scap is ok. I know I'm a mess.

I have bad skin, and I cannot use Sauve lotions at all in the Winter. They burn my skin if I use them....really ANY of the cheaper lotions. I can use the shampoo. Maybe you could look in the Health food store for a product?

I, too, am one of those people that has horrible reactions to some hair products. It took years for me to find one that works for me and a lot of trial bottles thrown out. Tres Ami is the one I use now but I've pretty much tried them all. Good luck in your search, what works for some might not work for you, it's pretty much trial and error. It would be cheaper, if you have a bunch of family and or friends, to ask if you could do your hair one time with their products and see if you could find something that would work.

I'm not sure of your hairstyle, but if it is short, then you can try pure aloe vera gel. It is very gentle and I have used it on my DS hair in place of gel. It worked for me.
You can also google home made hair gel or mousse. There are several easy recipes on the internet made from regular products.

I am allergic to Suave products too. Wow, never heard of anyone else having the same problem! Remember when you buy something to check it. Some products actually use Suave as a base and add their own scents and colors to it. Bath and Body is one place that does that. Also remember that "hypoallergenic" does NOT mean you cannot be allergic to a product. I had a friend in middle school whose mom bought her "hypoallergenic" earings. She ended up with a horrible infection, lost her earlobe, and almost died. Whoever invented that word was only trying to sell a product.
