Hi everyone

I won't be posting any of my quilting progress for a while.

On Tuesday July 27th I fell inside of my apt and I broke my right leg in 5 places. I had to be transferred from a good size hospital to a bigger hospital in the big city so they could do surgery on my leg. On Wed the 28th I went in for surgery and they put in a real long wide plate and 20 screws in my leg.

I was in a cast for a while with ace bandages covering the whole thing - the cast only went up just above my ankles and that was about it. About three weeks ago I went to see my bone specialist and he is really good and I just love him to death.

His Assistant took my cast off, took off the ace bandages, and now I'm wearing a boot I still can't put no weight on my leg yet for another 3 weeks. I go back to my bone specialist on Sept 9th and then he will tell me if I can start putting weight on my leg or not. Everything looks good on the x-rays.

I am staying at some dear close friends of mine until I am able to get up and walk period. I have my cat wih me too and he is so happy to be with me at my friend's house.

I sit in my wheel chair most of the time and I use my walker to go to the restroom and to get in and out of the car with. I only use my walker when I need to.

I had 30 staples in my leg where he cut me open up on my leg and they took those out too.

I am hoping and praying that I can start walking on my leg when I go see my bone specialist on Sept 9th.

On that Tuesday that it happened they had to re-set my leg without putting me out and boy did that hurt. I was in so much pain. My friend Marilyn was with me.

I trip over my lamp cord that was plugged into my power strip and that is how I fell. I had my cell phone laying on my table that was beside my chair and the way I fell I had to scoot to get to my table which wasn't that far with my foot dangling in mid air so I could get to my cell phone. I called 911 and the Firemen came, the paramedics came, they took out my living room window screen to get in to my apt. Than I called my friend Marilyn up and than we went from there.

I am just now gettng the movement back in my foot/ankle. I have to keep my boot on when I am not exercising my leg/ankle/foot. My leg is still not healed up yet. The pain has subsided pretty much now and my skin has loosen up quite a bit on my leg too. I only take one pain pill at night and that is it.

I have a real good close friend that died on Wednesday from Cancer and she was 52 years old. Her name is Debra. I am going to her Memorial Service on the 28th of this month.

My Quilting Group is going to help me finish my two quilts up and than I can hand quilt it than after they get it put together for me.

As soon as I am able to take pictures and upload them on my computer at my apt I will take pictures of my two quilts.

What a painful summer you have had. Keep your spirits up. You are in my prayers as you mend.

Oh dear, you have had alot going on. Be sure to take care of yourself and do as your doctors say so that you and your leg can get back to normal soon.
