Do you have a cd player? If so get a nature sounds one and play it while you sew the noise will becoem the white noise to those sleeping. ALso let them know you will be since that is your time to get your sewing done.

I know when I visted my Dad I was still on overnight schedual and he was on daylight time LOL Once I explained I didnt want to get out of my sleep pattern and it dawned on him I wasnt just up " partying" LOL he relaxed.
Having adult family members requires ALOT of communication both ways.
Good luck and enjoy getting to know your Dad and Uncle better.

This must be the night for insomnia. I really feel for you in your dilemma. One thing no-one has mentioned... is there any kind of hand sewing you can do?
I can be in same room with roomie and never bother him as I am a hand stitcher.
