But I have to try. My computer power cord is dying. I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop. I have to hold the cord in weir positions for the computer to charge.Does anyone have a dead computer with an usable power charger hanging around unused? I can pay a reasonable amount.

Thanks,

Maria

Check with any hotels/motels nearby - they often have a huge collection of forgotten cords!

I checked Craig'slist and didn't find one. Haven't sign to Freecycle here in NYC yet. I don't feel is safe here. The only transaction I did with someone from CL I insisted on meeting in a nearby cafe but he insisted I went to the address he gave me so guess who didn't show up. I'll keep searching.

Thanks for the ideas.

I have a HP Pavilion tx 2000 and I had my power cord go dead. I was able to get a new compatible power cord via Amazon for $10 bucks@@!! It's almost a year old now.. so far so good....
Are u sure it is the cord? I had a Toshiba that had a lose connector inside the puter that required I hold the cord as a odd angle to get it to charge....

I've done alot of business/trades/freebies/etc via craigslist and have never had a problem. Stand ur ground, use ur common sense... meet in a public place. Never go alone.
