I miss quilting!
After being retired (and loving it) for almost 2 years, I was asked (begged?!?) to come back to work for 20 hours a week to help finish a project. Well, I must have quilted for those 20 hours, as I haven't quilted a single stitch since I started back to work. And I really miss it! The project should be over by the end of the year, but that seems so far away!!
OK whine over. Thanks for listening.

Bless your heart. Have you tried a smaller project like mug rugs or a wall hanging or a different creative medium like cross stitch or embroidery to fill your creative side. Just a small project to keep you going. I hope the year is done before you know it.

I retired for a year and decided to go back to work. It is a family business, I missed seeing my two kids everyday. I was able to buy a 2012 Silverado 1500 LTZ 4wd. Much better than staying home.

I have started crocheting - hats to be donated to an organization that passes them out to teachers for their students. Crocheting is much easier to pick up for just a few minutes.

i went back to work for 3 years after my first retirement. i crocheted on my breaks and lunch. it filled the creative void and was a great conversation starter. now that i'm on my second retirement, i kinda miss the paycheck . however, i get so much quilting done!!!

I went back to work after being retired about 18 months. I love my job working at a pedi clinic, but it's definitely reduced my quilting time. I just got tired of too much time on my hands;my room is not quite as secluded as I would like. I love the challenges at the new job and seeing the kids, but will miss the freedom to go on trips at a time I want to.

Bless you for going back. Tomorrow is the third week of my retirement and have never been happier in my life. Working can be so draining of your time, energy, patience and creativity. But you have to do what you have to do. Hope you do something fun and significant with your unplanned earnings; maybe save it for a special vacation, revamp or establish a dedicated quilt room, buy a new machine or as Tartan says, "buy for your stash".
