Grrr...I haven't had a good nights sleep in weeks!!! My dog seems to think it's ok to bark to be let out at 3am, every morning! This morning it was even earlier, 2:15am! I can not take any more. We let him out right before we go to bed, between 10and 11pm, and now he's got us trained to come running when he barks at night to be let out. I really can't take it anymore. I had to vent...I just want a full nights sleep...

Sounds like it's also time to limit water intake in the evening and see if that works. We put in doggie doors so they can let themselves out. It has disadvantages and advantages tho.

My dog does that too.
He isn't a water drinker either.
I think he is hunting for something running in the back yard.

We are very careful to limit his water intake, nothing at all after 6pm...and even then he gets 3 cups of water to his 2 cups of food. He's let out 3 times between 6pm and the time we go to bed, so he has ample opportunities to get it out of his system.

He's on a chain and doesn't do anything outdoors except bathroom duty, he's an "indoor" dog, gets all his exercise and playtime indoors...

My bulldog did that for a while. Turned out she had a mild bladder infection. Might be worth checking out? I feel your fatigue!

Oh my word....... No telling what my dogs would drag in. It's bad enough when it is wet outside and I have to wipe eight feet before they come in. The builder of this house obviously didn't have dogs. The outside door leads directly into the open family room and breakfast room. At least he did have sense enough to put tile in front of the door and not carpet.

Do you have any place you can kennel him? I mean a small space or a travel cage? try that. My dog is not allowed to roam free at night. A dog usually won't need to go if they are in a small space. Also cover all but the front of the cage with an old blanket just leave the front uncovered so they can see out.
thats how the pros train their dogs. good luck

He's confined to the kitchen at night and he's too big for our crate (can't afford another one), but we have a back porch thats small and I'm tempted to leave him there for tonight and see what happens
