Marshmallow cream vs reg. marshmallows?

I need to make some fudge for tomorrow.
My recipe is on the back of a marshmallow cream jar.
But I've heard you can also use just reg. or mini- marshmallows?
If so, how many marshmallows equal one jar of the cream?
