Default If you use Bill Me Later

Be very very careful. I put a few purchases on it and was told by customer service, over the phone, that I did not have to make any payments until next April. But because I heard bad things about them on the Paypal forum, I decided to check my account. I had a payment due in 2 days!! If I had missed it there would have been a $35 late fee. (on a $17 balance).
I called CS again and heard some convoluted story about how I did have that promotion on the account but it did not apply to those purchases. What??!! So I hung up, paid it off, and will NEVER, NEVER use this company again.
You have to watch your back all the time when it comes to your finances.

I did the same thing! I accidentally hit that option when paying for something - wondering why I had to fill out all that information again....thought it was part of paypal...I immediately got a bill...so I paid it and closed the account.

It goes through PP, I think, but it is a separate company.

I have never used it, and sure glad that I haven't, after reading these comments. So much info from this board, thanks to all.

Thank you for the heads up! I personally do not use any type of credit what-so-ever myself. But I do know some who do and I will forward this information to them, it is greatly appreciated!

I never use those Bill Me Later things, basically I can be absent minded on a good day (can't find my eye glasses, forget why I went into another room) so knowing me I'd probably forget about that too lol but your right to always check things.

Case in point different matter but my DH god bless his soul wanted to be helpful and pay some bills that came in without me looking through them. So our cable bill came in, everything in the house is on one bill, internet, cable and phone. He didn't blink just paid it. I asked why it was so high, he didn't know.

Somehow his cell phone was being billed for 1-866 trivia games it's on the last page he had $170 for this service which the never signed up for, thats another one you all should check. When we called CS there's a recording if your calling about billing to your phone from a third party we can't do anything about it you need to deal with them directly for a refund. Good luck at calling a 1-866 number that's one way outbound calls only. He works in IT security, bank fraud, etc he never gives his number out for anything. We shred any papers in the house with account #s, etc I even shred my prescription drug fact sheets if it goes to the curb people can open up your life and trash it pretty quick. In the end we had to get the wireless company to issue him a new phone number.

another thing, when you sign up for something online, be very careful about giving out your phone number. There are services that will bill themselves to your phone bill and they are very sneaky about it.
