A couple of weeks ago someone on the board was moving her sewing room into her basement, and asked if she ran her dehumidfier would it be ok. That got me to thinking, my workshop is in my basement and a corner is used as the laudry area. The water in the air is almost 80 percent. I have been using the damprid hanging bags which must be replaced once a month. I said why not get a dehumidifier? I've had it for a week and it take 2.5 gallons of water out of the air from 2:30 pm to 12 am.
Delighted is too light for what I feel. Thanks, if I hadn't read it on the board I would never have thought to switch.

I couldn't stand it in my ancient little cottage without a himidifier; aren't they just wonderful! And I use the water collected to water my plants and the pet dish. :D

Yes, I love the dehumidified air but have had to replace it every year or two. It's been pretty expensive plus the cost to run it.

Great re-use of the water.

So that my dehumidifier can work endlessly, I have mine draining via a long hose into the shower or if you have access to a floor drain you could put it there. No emptying of the bucket or fear of the dehumidification not being able to work! :)

My area is in the basement as well, and do run the dehumidifier as well. It seems once that fall hits, I can stop it....start up again about May. Empty twice a day in the summertime! It does make a huge difference.

We have ours in the crawlspace back in the far corner Drains directly into the sump-pump. It's finished but still gets a bit damp.

I have a dehumidifier in the basement...I hooked it up to a garden hose to bypass the water holder...it now drains directly into the same drain that the washer hose drains in...no more carrying the water container up the steps...before that, I use to dump the water in the old washer down there that I use for my dog's bedding, turn it on spin...can you tell I love the dehumidifier but hated to have to carry the water container up the steps to drain it???
