I would like to make a rug from leftover denim... and I dont' want to spend much $ - can I make a front & back of denim strips/squares, sew together and add some binding and then put "something" on the back to make it so it won't slide around on my tile?

I don't see any reason not to. As long as you make it safe,it will be okay! Show us what you come up with! :D

That sounds like an interesting idea. We want pictures if/when you do it. :)

They also sell rubber like stuff for rugs so they do not slide....sounds like a great idea. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

i wonder if an old bathtub mat might work here. I have a small scatter rug that my cats love to run and slide on. I've tried two kids of antiskid mats but they don't work well. I'll have to try the bathtub mat myself, it's about the right size to be hidden under the rug. Of course it can't be sewn on it but might stop it from sliding.

I have looked high and low for this stuff and the only place I have found it is On-line from Jo-Ann's.

I've found the rubbery/grippy carpet (don't know the word...pads? liners?) just at Walmart. I have them under throw rugs so they will not slide around. It's very similar to the shelf liner by feel, so the shelf liner may work just fine!

The shelf liner doesn't have quite enough grip if it gets slightly dusty, I took a pretty good fall :(
