I have a 12 yr old daughter. She is a girl scout currently working on her Bronze award. She is the only one from her troop working towards this honor. For her project she chose to make and donate pillow cases to our local childrens hospital. She had help cutting, her aunt and I cut the fabric for her, but she sewed them all herself. She made 31 total. The very kind lady we delt with explained to her how the donations were used and told her that as they(the hospital)were getting low on pillow cases these were a welcome addition. That some would be given away as soon as they were taken upstairs. My girl feels so good and is thinking how she can do this again soon. The lady at the hospital even told her how well she sews!

Job well done! What a wonderful accomplishment and a great incentive for the future! She really deserves that award.

You hear so much bad stuff about kids these days - I just love hearing the good stuff like this. I really think most of our young people are great, we just don't hear about it often enough.

Kudos to you, too, mom. Whatever you're doin, you're doin' it right!
