No surprise. A shame they can't get it right.

what are they supposed to get right? Costs keep going up. PO trucks use gas just like your car does.

On the brighter side, there will be a cost of living increase for those on Social Security. 1.3 %.

It is not an annual increase. It has been three years since the price of a stamp's last increase.

"get it right"!!! My sister has worked for the PO for many years. (They have actually offered her early retirement but she declined.) HOWEVER, she has explained many times to me about the hierarchy within the PO and even she gets upset when there is a price increase in postage. Because of the internet....email, Facebook, etc....there is not as much First Class Mail being sent thru the PO.

So it's a conundrum. Top heavy management and inefficiency are some of the reasons that the PO is in the red. The upside is convenience with home delivery and local post offices.

Our postal system is the BEST in the world. Every thing costs more today. I don't work for the PO or have any relatives that do. I just appreciate the convenience and services. Commercial delivery like UPS and FedEx, etc. are more expensive. Imagine how much it would cost without the PO for competition.

I started stocking up on forever stamps the first year they came out with them. I still have about 25 sheets left. Hope it will last me a lifetime
