and the Firemen are in danger for their lives, but one gentle soul tells you he'll run in and drag out one sewing machine and one quilt ONLY. All others will be completely destroyed. What machine and quilt do you tell him to save?

None of them. They are things..... I would want him to be safe with all of the other firemen.

I'd have him save a cat. Since I have 7, there's only so many of them I can grab as I go out the door myself.

As for machines... I'm not attached to them. I can't afford to replace them either... but that's another story. :-P

If he is safe going back in I would have him get the last quilt my Mom made before she died. I wouldn't worry about machines.

I'll play...I would have him save my non-working, in pieces brother sewing machine from wal-mart that my husband gave me about 13 years ago. The quilt would be.........the blue and yellow I made for our bed.

I know Candace doesn't mean for any fireman to even be hurt, and I'm assuming she isn't asking what else I'd save (my grandma's sewing cabinet and notions, my Flopsy bunny doll she made clothes for, mementos of my late brother) so I'll say my Centennial featherweight. I think it's the least replaceable of my machines, except maybe my new-old Bernina 930, and I'd worry the fireman would get a hernia trying to drag that one out.

My featherweight and a quilt I made for my Dad. It's a scrappy flying geese with bright colors and a black background.
