Hearing why I didn't get an interview for a job I'd applied for at the place I work at now got me kind of down this morning.

Anyone know of a full time job in central Iowa?

So sorry to hear about your job....and I'm sending positive energy your way with affirmations that you will find something quickly. My hours were just cut at my job, which is going to really hurt, but at least I still have somewhat of a paycheck. All the best to you.

After getting through the first round, they made everyone fill out a questionaire. I thought short and to the point for my answers to their questions would be good. But I guess I would've been better off if I had added some fluff to it.

Well, I always thought that short and to the point was the best way. Fluff is for school reports where they count words....

Maybe you're better off not getting that job anyway!

It really depends on who is reading the answers. It pays to know all you can about that person. I worked at a Fourtune 500 company for years in corporate.
The higher ups are not into common sense, a good snow job wins every time. Flattery and always being helpful and available with a smile got many promoted over the better qualified. I had to bite my tongue many times in seeing some nitwit getting promoted over the person that was truly the better employee.
