the new golden barberry we put in along the front of the split rail fence.
Hoping the deer will leave it alone.

We live at 940 feet, downtown is straight down
Easy walking down, get my real workout walking back up.

Come walk with me tomorrow! 10 AM and I have 3634 steps on my fitbit.
Yesterday my whole total was under 2000, mother was needy.

Please take your camera another day. I would love to see the wildflowers you have in Washington. A coyote and a pair of bald eagles are pretty awesome though.
Your pictures just showed up. Pretty.
I am going on a garden tour tomorrow. They are always so impressive.

KQ, your bushes are lovely. The deer are an issue fro me, too. I have to put my tomatoes on the patio to not be sharing them. I have my first roses blooming and get out to get close to them. Darn! I will have to enjoy them from the window for at least another week.

The thigh muscles on the casted leg are tired of lifting the cast. I feel like I want to soak it in a hot tub, but that can't happen. Okay, enough whining.

I feel like I've gained a couple of pounds sitting around. A few days of very low carbs are in order. I have to eat to heal, but I can certainly eat the correct foods. I saw my massage therapist yesterday and had a wonderful sleep last night. I haven't been sleeping much this week. I need to exercise in order to sleep under normal circumstances.

I AM losing weight and getting healthier.

I was down 1.2 lbs yesterday. I've gotten back on my plan and seem to be doing better. We are having a birthday party for my mom on Sat. She will be 80!

I know it's still early, but do we know what colors we are going for in the next three months? Hancock Fabrics is having a sale in their store here on FQ's and I thought I might stock up. They were $2.29 each and are on sale now for $1.49.

How about July- batiks, August-black and white, September-pink. Batiks are always popular so I figured we were due for them again.

Happy Summer Solstice everyone! We celebrated by going to a bison ranch for lunch and for a long walk through a teaching sculpture park! I did a brave thing at lunch (for me). I ordered a grilled bison California burger without sauce and the bun on the side! Nothing bad happened. The waitress wrote it down without blinking, the chef didn't fly out of his kitchen with a clever, the people around us didn't stop talking and best of all - my family wasn't embarrassed! The beautiful bun went home with us in the leftover bag I carry - (hate those huge white plastic boxes) for my fella to enjoy for lunch tomorrow. Last week we went out for Chinese and I ordered combination egg foo young without the sauce and took the steamed rice home for the same fella. Ate half the egg foo young and took the rest home.
Any other ideas to share???

When we went out for dinner last night my daughter and I shared a Cuban sandwich and sweet potato fries. Plus we each ordered a side salad. It was plenty to eat and only half the calories it would have been if we each ordered our own. Even doing that I had to use some bonus WW points but it was worth it.

I've cut down on fast food restaurants ... down to once or twice a week. It has been difficult but I'm seeing results. I carry a snack bag of nuts or an apple with me if I think I'm going to be out and about over a mealtime. I always carried water with fresh lemon slice with me. I'm making little changes that I hope will be permanent.

Excellent changes! And the more we ask for what we want the more often the word gets to the chef/owner that we would like the option of having a meal out, not a banquet for a small nation.
I've had friends from overseas actually take photos of restaurant meals, they can't believe the size of the portions.

One portion that has always stuck in my mind, for 'you can't eat just one' 8 chips is a portion. 100 calories.
I just went to look at Robs pack and it now says 15 is a portion...but 160 calories.

IrishRose, if you've been weighing in with you cast on, I'm all for weighing in with it off. Happy healing!

Today's wildlife on my morning walk wasn't too exotic. The neighbors cat in the field weighing her points options, and two wild bunnies, and a red and black moth/butterfly. 9:30 and I'm up to 4456 steps. Yesterday was over 12K...I doubt I ever do that again

Power on ladies!

edited to add: re: carpal tunnel. Today is day 9 and the first day I can use rotary cutter without some pain. I wouldn't get out fabric and cut a project, but I can trim my paper piecing houses. I've been able to use big scissors since day 4 I think.
