Default Kids PillowBed

I made this for my grand daughter, and am making them for my grandsons for Christmas!

It's this simple... 2 1/5 yards of 60 inch fabric, and four standard pillows. I used Jersey Knit, fold your selvages under and sew them down.

Lay down inside out, folded over as a pillow sham is folded. But, just so a standard pillow will lay end to end across the folded fabric. Sew the ends closed.

Turn the long giant sham right side out. Lay out flat and nice, mark across at 21 inch intervals down to make your pillow cases for each one. It's 3 seams for four pillows. Sew on these marks across the right side of the fabric.

That's it! Slip your Standard pillows in and it's done.

They fold easy and can be tied with a ribbon to store or gift.

Martha Stewart does something similar... but differently. It's picture 5 in this list of 19 outdoor ideas. You could do the same thing with the kid fabric and use it on the floor.

Thank you. It's sort of like I figured but it always nice to know how someone else does it. It's such a great idea for kids. Can't wait to make some.

I made another. It took me about an hour. I am making them for my grandkids, two girls, 6 boys. I am putting the pillows in the ones who live here, and shipping just the sham and a gift certificate for the pillows to the kids who live away. 3 in DC.

Great idea and yours are great. Kids would love to lay on these on the floor to watch tv.

My husband came up with a great idea today when I showed him to blue one. He said I should make a way to attach them together (like ribbon ties or something) so they can become a BIG bed on the floor for when the 3 stay all night. I'm thinking about that! Smart man!

They might even be nice to use in a motorhome on the beds!

Love the blue one.
