Kokeshi dolls!

I have been collecting these little wooden dolls for years. They are not often easy to find and I have to actually FIND them, I don't go on ebay looking for them...

I found two this week and though they are newer and not vintage like my others, I simply fell in love the dragon fly one so had to get them both!

funny thing, I was just thinking this same thing when I went to place these two on the shelves...I have some that are very old, some plain, some ornate...I just love them and love the HUNT for them!

will do pix tomorrow..I am off to the city with my boys....

I checked out the wikipedia site and was surprised to learn of something I had never heard of. I can see why your attracted to them, they are very crafty and the history was very interesting. Thanks for sharing this unique collection.
