I have two bullmastiff's that are a little more than 100 lbs. each. I would like to make a bed for each one but have no idea as to what materials and what foam I should be using. Does anyone have a pattern or know what products are safe to use for them?

For the really big boys and girls, I would reccommend you get a good sturdy baby matress...much cheaper than a dog bed from Petsmart!! You can cover it with a good indoor/outdoor canvas fabric by using a pattern like you would cover a pillow or just cover them with a large king size blanket that you can toss in the washer and dryer when needed

I agree my girl friend has a great Dane she went to a thrift store and got a baby mattress and covered it. Of couRse she preferred her masters bed but when she moved back with hubby then she had to sleep on the baby bed!!

I believe I have been told that cedar chips inside help with flea control. Available at pet stores. My dogs are smaller and I mad there beds out of two towels and a old bed pillos. sewed three sides and velcro on one end...
