All I can say is it's a good thing hubby has a month's worth of socks. He moved here the middle of June and we finally got the washer and dryer hooked up this morning!!

My old kid says this house was wired by monkeys. I think he just might be right!!! The plug in for the dryer is a range plug in. Of course that means I now have a 6 foot dryer cord that I can't use. Hopefully I still have the receipt from Lowe's and they'll take it back.

I'll bet the washer and dryer run pretty much continuously for the next three days.

Wow, it sounds like a long haul for you. I'm glad they are hooked up at last.

Glad to hear you're back in business.

Hopefully you're not on septic and it's a front loader!

Oh that's the pits not to have a washer & dryer. I remember having to go to the laundermat when I first married. Hope it goes smoothly for you.

When the laundry pile got truly mountainous - it was worth the trek to the laundromat.

Usually only had to do that two or three times a year.

Yea, there are two different cords that dryers use, and you can betcha that every time I move, the new place has a plug that does not match the cord I have on the dryer. lol

Don't cha just love it when things finally work out? Bet you never thought you'd ENJOY doing laundry!

Did you ever have to use a wringer washer and hang the laundry on a clothesline to dry? (I even enjoyed THAT once upon a time.) Guess I'm showing my age here, but it really makes you appreciate the push-button washers and dryers!

Yes - and we're back to handing laundry on a clothesline when we do the snowbird thing!

I would not want to be without a washer and dryer that long.
We used a laundromat when first married also, seemed like a waste of time, a necessary evil I suppose.
Glad you are back to normal.
