You're right. First picture is llamas. Second one is alpacas. I have had both.

The top picture is llamas and the bottom alpacas. We have alpacas. We had 12 but the neighbors 5 dogs came over & killed them all. We have started a new herd with 3 and are expecting cira (babies ) in just a few weeks. We shear the alpacas & I have the wool made into batting for my quilts. They are such wonderful animals & easy to take care of. Love my babies.

I agree, top llamas, bottom alpacas. I love the tuft of hair alpacas have and love to hear them hum.

I agree: llamas mostly in the top photo and alpacas in the lower one.

Top Llama's and bottom Alpaca's. I keep them straight because Alpaca's remind me of poodles on steriods with that cute little top knot. I love the little critters and wish I had known about them years ago and I would have bought a few.

Both. Have to laugh, this made me remember something really funny. My son's band teacher in High School raises llamas. Hercules was his oldest one and was at the county fair every year. My son love Him. So I get a phone call one day from the teacher....He asks when he can drop off Hercules..... I'm like "what????". Apparently Hercules wasn't playing well with the others and needed a new home. My son told the teacher we would love to have him and that I had already agreed... I did not want a llama. This was life with my Robert. One day someone showed up with a horse they had given my son.......He forgot to tell them I had said no. Have a great day all.

No doubt as others have said - top is llamas and bottom is alpacas. We have 10 of the later.
