Default Lonesome Dove

Can anyone help with this arguing dh and I are having??? I recorded Lonesome Dove, and my husband said I stopped the recording and eliminated an hour of part 2 (of 4). Now, when we record a program, we put in the time, but there is no option for shortening the length of it. He insists that it was MY fault. If any of you recorded the program, did you notice, parts 1-3-4 are 2 hours long, but part 2 is only 1 hour long......Thanks in advance!

are you just speaking of the first one? Lonesome Dove, not Return to Lonesome Dove or Open Range or any of those? I looked up Lonesome dove on netflix, it shows it as 4 episodes and each one is apx. 1-1/2 hr, I have it on DVD at home, I'll look to see if it has 2 parts and how long if it does. in the mean time just let him think he's right so you can have peace! LOL

Is it the tv mini-series? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lonesom...TV_miniseries)

If so, it is unlikely that Part 2 was shorter. If you have to input the time in order for your DVR to record, then you may have made a mistake in the start time (starting an hour late) or the channel may have broadcast it an hour earlier than you thought it would. I have seen tv channels do this, sometimes without any notice of the change.

I agree with Kathy, I checked IMDB and it shows each episode is 1.5 hours long - without commercials. If you're recording a broadcast station with commercials, it will be longer. What are you using to record the series with? You speak of having to physically program it, so I'm wondering if you're using VHS? It's entirely possible there is a problem with a tape, or the machine itself.

Life is too short to argue about 30 minutes left out of a TV show. I hope he can find a way to think about something else! Maybe he can find a buddy that also recorded pt 2, so he can see the few minutes (and commercials) that he missed.

buy him the DVD as a gift. Maybe that would make him feel better. Isn't it funny the little things we choose to fuss about. :>)

Red face

I have it in a boxed set. I got it from Barnes & Noble years ago.

I think it's quite an epic western movie myself. Robert Duvall played Augustus rather well. And Tommy Lee Jones looked fabulous wearing that black hat and black jeans.
