I started watching a British show on Netflix called "Doc Martin," and enjoyed it. I think Netflix is worth it, especially since there doesn't seem to be much on these days on the regular channels, at least not much I like.

I watch Netflix on my ipad all the time. I can carry it with me while sewing or cooking or whatever. Love watching a series from start to finish. Really enjoyed Longmire and am looking forward to this season. Also watched the complete Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch. It included little interviews with the characters and the making of the program.

I have Netflix streaming (not the DVDs via the mail); it's about $10 a month, up from about $8. I watch very little network tv anymore, or cable either other than Turner Classic Movies, because it all seems to be reality shows or terrible sitcoms (no offense to anyone who likes that programming!). I think the Netflix subscription is worth it. You can always cancel if you find you don't watch it much.

ok, Geri B. Got to get with the new vocabulary so you can talk to your daughter, the cable installer. The word is no longer "marathon" it is now called binge watching. Yes, I love Netflix, I love Longmire, I love Bing-watching. LOL

...well I really am from the Stone Age, I guess....to me binge is only for drinking!, but like many other new words/meanings, I will try to learn the "new" language----"you guys"-----another one! Another---addressed to me by gd - "hey"....that's over the edge...I told her "hay" is in the barn, you may call your friends/peers that, but not adults.

This is our household exactly! We got rid of the $100plus a month cable 5 years ago and don't miss it! I can't stand to watch even local network shows because it's 3 minutes of programming and 5 minutes of commercials. AND....now days they have on 4 weeks of a show then it's off for 3 months. By the time it comes back on I have no clue what is going on, lol. That's why hubby and I "binge" watch everything. Haha! Netflix has been working towards putting commercials in....that's gonna be a sad day. Just like Amazon now has to collect sales tax in our state. Ugh.
