I went to an Estate Sale today 4 houses down from mine and it is one of the few older homes built in the early 1950's, Its a little larger than mine but it was like walking into a time warp they house had nothing newer furniture and appliance wise than 1964. It was like opening a Better Homes and Gardens in 1957.

Well the kitchen was mind blowing, it still had the original enameled metal cabinets that looked like they were put in last month. The original gas stove and all of the appliances were still there but the ice box blew me away. So much I had to buy it on the spot!!! Its a late 40's to early 50's GM Frigidaire in mint condition!!!!   The chrome is perfect along with the finish and it was still ginning like it was just bought.

I even got a ice cold coke out of it and drank it (thats how they were demonstrating how good it was) so I asked what do you want for it and the lady said make an offer and I got it for $75!

I have a new Kenmore with all the bells and whistles already but I think its coming out as soon as I paint the new old Frigidaire Orange to match the Kitchen Aide mixer we have!!

I found this photo of one just like it on the web to show my wife and she really likes it. Now I might go back and get the gas stove and paint it the same color Orange. It was just as mint as the ice box!!

Here is the photo, kinda looks like an early 50's Pontiac...

Gorgeous! Love it!

My Grandfathers building has almost all the original things that where put in the house. Original wood floors, windows, cabinets, bathrooms are all original, doors... all from the fifties! My Great Grandmother had the building built.

I would have loved to have seen that house!!!
