Read your way through the books by Jennifer Chiaverini and that way you'll also get a quilt-fix as they are all about quilting. Other authors who feature quilters are Sandra Dallas, Marie Bostwick, Clare O'Donohue and Mary Marks. I'm sure there are others, too, but these will get you a good start with solid stories.

I am currently reading the series "William Monk" by Anne Perry. He is an 1800's policeman and it really gets into London in the 1800's. She also wrote a "Thomas and Charlotte Pitt" series. Also in 1800's London. Love both of them.
If you like action, try Clive Cussler. I love all of his books.

Wow! You all are amazing with so many great suggestions. I have looked at each one and marked them on Amazon to check out further. I do have an Ipad so I can put the books on there if I want.
I also appreciate the good wishes for my surgery. I am feeling a little apprehensive as the date gets closer but I've convinced myself that this is the right decision. The good wishes and encouragement are always helpful so thank you everyone.

I have never read anything by Agatha Christie before, but am now reading Crooked House and am enjoying it. You might be able to find her books as free classics on Kindle since they're so old.
I read the Hunger Games series when they came out and found them hard to put down. I think I read all of them in three days flat. Didn't eat or sleep alot during those three days, lol.
