Saturday I was rearranging my sewing room to make more room for my Long arm. Emptying out different chests and laying fabric in the floor. I had a big sack that I was putting trash in . When I got through arranging my stash, the room looked looked really nice and neat. I took out the trash to put in the dumpster and grapped my white sack along with other garbage bags and away I went. Last night( Tue) I went to bed and went to sleep and at 2:40 am My eyes popped open and I thought," What did I do with the fabric that my daughter bought to make Christmas stocking out of?" I hopped out of bed and went to the sewing room and there laid the bag of trash on top of a small chest. I had thrown my daughter's Christmas stocking fabric in the trash. I only hope the facric is still at JoAnns so I can replace it.

I am so sorry to hear that. Don't you hate it when you have those "oh no!" moments in the middle of the night? Hopefully you can replace that fabric. If not, consider it an offering to the Fabric Gods. :)

Oh what a horrid situation! I've awakened in the night like that... luckily for nothing as unfortunate as your situation.

This has happened with a quilt that was in a garbage bag ready to go home from a quilt show. It ended up with all the other garbage bags ready for the garbage truck. The custodian accidentaly picked it up and took it. OH my!
Yes, it was rescued before it went off...thank God!

That's why I never put fabric in trash bags. I'm so scatter brained it would all end up in the trash. :)

No, the Dumpster truck comes on Mon and I didn't discover the missing material about this until Wed 2:40 am. I had put the fab in the trash on Sat afternoon.
