I was amazed when my LQS told me that she's found several empty bolts in the ladies room. I would never that thought theft would be a problem.

It's just a sad state of affairs when an older woman feels she must steal her fabric - I find myself wondering what her personal story is. I mean, does she need the fabric THAT BADLY? Poor soul!

You know someone will recognize her, tell the authorities and her life will be ruined....and all for a bit of fabric....truly sad.

It happens...it happened at our quilt shop...not just fabric, but other items too...even quilt samples....we ended up nailing things to the walls...attaching jingle bells...still even had some taken after that...no shame. Also at a quilt show, many vendors had items stolen. She got caught...and we did find out who she was...and when she did come to our shop...we followed her just a few steps behind. We had others we were suspicious of and also followed them. I find it hard to believe that quilters can steal, but we found out otherwise. Sad that people do. Hope this person gets caught.

Sad story. I was in one of the Hancock's in Atlanta recently and asked where the rotary blades were. Behind the counter because the lady said they get stolen - a lot!!!!

so sad-if she needed the fabric so badly she could have asked for help from the store or from this board.

Shame on her!!!!!! Quilters have such lovely and generous hearts (at least in my experience) and people like her give us a bad name!

Hello everyone

You know I almost want to say that I feel sorry for her. I mean, and addiction at this level is NOT healthy whatever the addiction is! Having said that, I hope that they find the woman (she's no lady) and prosecute her to the full extent of the law!
