We are traveling from Virginia to Tennessee this weekend and, with a 40 minute detour, can go to Mary Jo's in Gastonia on the way. Is it worth the time and effort?

Mary Jo's is a great place. Better to know what you want to look at before you go in. It's home decorator, wedding, fashion, trim & of course quilting. I was there about 3 years ago. At that time all batiks were $6/yard. Don't know about now but prices will be lower than LQS.

I was visiting Charlotte NC and stopped off at Mary Jo's on my way to Knoxville, Tennessee last week. I attended the Quilt show there.

The trip is aboslutely worth it!The amount of fabric in the store is amazing! Every novelty you can think of. I call the store fabric heaven!! I spent 3 hours in the store shopping.

I live in NY and look forward to visiting Mary Jo's next year. We don't have anything remotely close to this shop!! I did say it's fabric heaven right!! Loved it!!!

Prices are anywhere between $6-9/yard. Alot of fabric on sale between $3-5/yard.

Go and enjoy your shopping!!! You won't regret it!! :)

Worth it .? OH YES !! Just make sure you have a good amount of time to spend( and $$) ..... like the whole day!!! My only issue is I had to finally take a break for lunch ... and then returned.

if you are traveling I-85, go to Mary Jo's. I get over whelmed with all the fabric. It helps to know about what yhou are interested in like the color or pattern of the fabric.
While there ask for directions to the thread outlet, Long Creek Mills. You will love all the threaqd, Very good prices.
They are great to order by phone quick turn-around. Check the website.
Have lots of money and time. Have fun.

I went with some friends and the first day we were so overwhelmed we didn't spend a dime! The next day we went back and between the three of use we spent over $1000! So beware!

Thanks for the info - I'm looking forward to it! My only regret is that I will have my husband and two daughters with me :-)
