Default Mary Proctor iron

I was reading about irons the other day--on this forum, I believe- and there were several comments about the Mary Proctor iron. Well, I ran out to an estate/yard sale this morning and rummaging thru a box to follow an electric cord, I came upon this little iron. As you can see, the cord looks unused, and on the end of the iron is printed "Guar. expires Feb. 1975. I invested a $2 bill and rushed home to plug it in. It was very hot almost before I got it connected. Plain, smooth dry iron. I can never seem to buy an iron that gets hot enough for jeans...betcha this one will be. So tickled to own it.
