Is this the same as "SparkPeople" as Elise mentioned above, or is this a completely different program?

I tried it - once - and you're right, it was beyond awful. I am very sensitive to smells and that stuff smells BAD - all of it! I even bought a cookbook that's supposed to help you "dress it up" with different spices - still awful. That odor and the aftertaste never quite goes away. YUCK YUCK Just thinking about it makes me want to barf!

Yes, I think Elise meant Spark People. There's also a Spark People book that tells you about their entire program - I have it on my Kindle.

I joined Thrive Weight Loss, their website is www.thriveweightloss.com about 4 years ago and lost 60 lbs and 30 plus inches. I went from a very tight size 16 to a size 6-8. I kept the weight off for 3 years, but life got in the way this year and I have gained about half of it back. So, as of today I will start the program again.

They teach you to eat the correct combinations of food, you can do classes on line. If you tcannot join in the class you can watch it later as the video is stored for you. I did not buy the supplements they use, I just followed the eating habits. It is really a great program and it works.

Most everyone I know that did a liquid diet, including Medifast, eventually gained back the weight... hate to be a downer, but that is how it is. It's hard to relearn eating habits and reintroducing solids , but not snacks requires more disipline than most of us have. I had Gastric Bypass Surgery not quite 3 years ago. I have gained back some... but I'd do it again in a minute. Although some of the weight has come back, my diabetes numbers and blood pressure have stayed low. Lose hair to due to malnutrition. Try taking biotin and zinc. I actually have more hair than before (but it was pretty thin to start with)

Lynnie,
No matter what, losing weight and not gaining it back is sooooooo hard. Sending lots of good thoughts your way! Sometimes just making the decision to participate in any weightloss program makes you feel better and able to stick with it.

Lol sounds like the trick is to make food completely unappetizing.
