As many of you know me here,, ( think,,lol) you know I am in the Us Army, and was hurt in Iraq and now back in the states recovering. It is customary for military bases to have a 30 seconds at 3pm to pause, no music, no noise, no nothing, just to honor our men and women that have given their lives for our counrty. And to give support to our men and women still willing to give their lives right now around the world for us.

So, I ask you on Memorial Day, at 3pm please pause for 30 seconds, and think of those that have given the ultimate sacrifice for us, and those that are doing it now..

Thank you...

I purchased a new flag to place on Daddy's grave. He was a WWII vet. In honor of him and all of our fallen and active soldiers, I will be pleased to do this on Memorial Day. A big thank you to all of our active military personnel for the job they all perform.

mrsdralshhadeh thank you as well for your service to our country. I wish you a speed recovery, and may you always be safe wherever you are.

I certainly will do this. I have 2 SILs serving right now- one in Baghdad and 1 in Camp LeJuene. My family is filled with veterans- my Dad, Grandfather, several uncles, aunts, cousins, we're pretty patriotic around here.

Thank you for serving mrsdralshhadeh, I appreciate the sacrifices made by our military. I hope you are well soon. I'll keep you in my prayers.

First, thank you for your service and sacrifice.

I was at cemetery yesterday to place new wreaths and flags on my dad's and 2 uncles graves. All served their country. It was beautiful to see all the service person's graves with flags waving.

Thanks for the suggestion for the "pause"-will definitely do that; I do pray everyday for all who are serving.

My son just got back from Afghanistan, while he was there he paused at the memorial for the fallen..

Here in my area, the local veterans groups are doing a special thing for the forgotten soldiers, those whos remains were left at funeral homes. (for whatever reason) and who fought in any war..they are going to bury them monday. How wonderful ! A new law passed allowing this practice of burying the forgotten soldiers...you can read about it here...
