fantastic!!!
When a neighbor asked if i could hem her pants, and she had a few, I told her my machine isn't the kind that sews cloths, just quilts. she gave me a funny look, and never asked again.

It must be inherited in my family. We all do some sort of mending of clothes, sleeping bags, socks etc. Well except for my younger sister, her idea of mending something is to wait for Mom to come visit.....lol

I usually have a mending binge, I gather all the things that require some attention and watch a couple movies. Before I know it I am done.

I try to stop whatever I am doing and do the repair immediately. Then it's off my back and never thought of again!
I want my head full of creative things, not what has to be done.

Great idea! And the wear is the same so matches perfectly! I don't mind mending. It usually requires some thought about how to go about it and is like a puzzle for me. When it works it is very satisfying.

That is a neat idea for mending jeans.
I once tore a hole in a brand new pair of jeans. I made a mini log cabin log block out of very bright colors and sewed it on. I got lots of compliments on it.

LOL Very creative! Love it! I don't like to mend either. Seems like it is such a big job for me & I will put it off as long as possible unless it is something that has to be done right now. I have had a lot of people over the years ask me to mend for them but I just tell them I don't mend. I will for family of close friends but that is different. I love Lynnie's answer to mending! lol

You have to tell us what his reaction was to having a pocket on the knee. Do you think he got the hint? I think it was a great idea.

He liked the pocket even though it is non functioning because it prolongs the life of his jeans. He said, " too bad it doesn't open as I could keep my cell phone in it". Ya, like your cell phone on your knee would be a good idea.

I hate mending. A quilting friend of mine said to me that "to ask a quilter to mend clothes is like asking VanGough to paint your garage door". So true!!

LOVE IT !! I will only mend for my DH and my daughter. I, too, hate it and have the same quote as love2sew8085 posted in my sewing room. I was a Home Ec. major in college and I would rather make an outfit by scratch than mend an existing outfit.........ugh.
