I'm reading a book and the lease terms for the US Embassy in London was mentioned. Naturally, I had to go to the Internet to check it out. The book stated the US paid ONE PEPPERCORN a year for the rent. And the lease has more than 900 years left to go. Now that's some deal!

And the book was right.

The report I saw on the Web states the Embassy is moving and it has been put up for sale at 500million British pounds. Big Bucks. In case you are interested, I am posting the link. To me it is very interesting. It is moving to have better security.

not sure how you get a 900+ years of rent. whoa! glad that bill didn't show up in my mail box! :shock: :lol:
