Most of my bulbs are mini, but its because we don't get enough cold and then it starts warming up early. I have daffodils and another flower that is purple, both bloom when they are only about 2 inches in height.

Love daffodils...one of the best 25 cents you will ever spend and the deer don't eat them...I treasure the days when the Grands pick flowers for me...and daffodils are one of the first each spring.

I did the same thing about 6 yrs. ago and those little darlings are the first pop=ups in the spring and they are so welcomed. I think that there were about 8 bulbs in the beginning and I planted those apart along the front of the bed. They have multiplied and now each group must have about 10 bulbs in it. They last so much longer that the large ones and are so cheerful.

I like how you saved these beauties. I always bought my plants at the end of the season when most everything looks dead, but those roots are still healthy. Sometimes the garden enter would just give them to me just to get rid of them. It is good to get to know the people at the garden center. I was a bit of a plant scrounger. Never turned anything down that someone would give me.
Good job. They are beautiful.
