Oh gosh! My great-grandmother used to say that, but sort of with a German accent.

You made your bed, now you have to lie in it. In other words, you have to live with your mistakes and make the best of it.

OHH Danni, these were so funny. I have some great memories of the elders in my past. My grandpa use to say, when he thought someone was slight upstairs; "They don't know !#@&$#^ from applebutter. I would always want to stir the pots when mother was canning or cooking for company and I would have to stand on a chair beside our old "Home Comfort" stove. He walk through and say, "That girl is begging for a blister."

My sweet quiet dad, had a few of his own personal sayings. He seldom had much to say, but should we be watching a show and the hero and lady kissed at the end of it, he would slap his hands and say "HAM AND EGGS FOR BREAKFAST" Mom would scold him, that was the only reason we knew it had any hidden meaning. His other one was when someone got to fighting on tv, he called it scrappers corner, full of knuckles and elbows. Don'tcha just love to know these things??? I do.

Blessings,
Ruth
