Need help from all you very crafty people

I need to come up with a way to label an award belt that my kids want to start as of this past Christmas. It is plastic so it needs to stick to plastic and be permanent. I will just need to put on the last name of the winners and a date. I wanted to do something unique instead of just using a marking pencil or paint.

How about cutting out the letters from fancy Duct tape? It comes in amazing colours now and is super sticky.

Studs or paper clips which open at back. .

I like a combination of the studs and the duct tape. Glue rhinestones or bedazzle (is that the word?) A leather punch would work if you are careful. Good luck! Post a picture, please.
