What's your easiest, simplest way to cook these delicasies??

Spread melted butter/garlic butter on them and grill them :D:D:D

I like to roll them in cornmeal and fry them. Everything is better rolled in cornmeal and fried. Often, I scramble eggs into them, too.

We always saute them in a little butter and olive oil. They are the most delicious things. :)

Thank you for your response. Do you soak they first in water or milk? I'd heard that somewhere.

Soak them in salted water to get rid of any bugs that might be lingering in their spores. I also believe in dipping them in flour w/cornmeal and frying them.

DEFINATELY soak them in salt water first.....we didn't the first batch...grossed me out. We do the butter/oil and garlic saute, too.

OMG I wish I had some. We always went mushroom hunting as a kid. My brothers and I found a huge patch of them one year. There is nothing better in this world. I can close my eyes and hear them frying in the big skillet and smell the goodness that will follow... We soaked them in salt water, beat up a egg, add some milk to the egg, then dredge in flour with salt and pepper added to the flour. Fry and enjoy a piece of heaven... I do hope you enjoy them.
