Why not quilt a memorable quilt for the both of you to share? I am sure you have a few cool nights there. Maybe you could incorporate both birthdays on the quilt. Put in some pics of the 2 of you enjoying life!

Happy Early Birthday! I buy my own birthday gift and tell DH thank you. We go out to a nice restaurant on our birthdays.

thanks for the birthday wishes. My darling husband has a fault. he can't cook,
unless it's the BBQ. There is nothing i wnat or need. He is so good to me, buts
needs a nudge. Maybe I'm best going for a gift crd. He even shops for fabric
with me. he's the best. Maybe a trip to the art gallery I like, and a nice lunch out.

I would go for memories -- even our kids are doing that now. So nice. If I want something quilty it goes on my Christmas list (everyone makes one and we draw from it the rest of the year) but dinner at a fancy restaurant or a ball game is beyond us so the kids give it to us as gifts.

I would ask for a massage... It's always the right size and color!

Whatever happens, have the happiest of birthdays!

If money is tight, why not forgo the gift altogether? Go out to dinner, and let him buy you a cake and maybe a pretty bouquet of flowers. That always makes me happy.

Happy birthday, Lynnie!

He sounds like a jewel......does he want you to make anything "just for him" that he could pick the fabric for? Go together if he does and let him be part of the decisions.....otherwise, I'd go for the dinner and maybe a gift card....that charm bracelet sounds nice too, if you are the bracelet wearing type.......

I stillhave my massage gift card form christmas. I like to go when i don't have to worry about a coat in the car. (I only have a mink coat and jacket, n o other type of jacket) so the spring is coming and i don't have to worry about a coat.

My son bought me a charm bracelet when gold was cheap over 20 yrs ago. I worked in gold and jewelry t the time, and figured he'd get away cheap and buy me a charm for occasions. I had over 38 and lost some,, so i don't wear it anymore. I have all my sets of jewelry for now. Ruby, pearls, Russian chrome diopside, larimar, morganite. I just want a Russian ch diop. bracelet or a plain gold one, but really don't need anything. He always loves to buy me something. He's just the best, and cute too.

I guess i'll go for the gift card to JA"s. Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

Lynnie - Happy birthday - I feel like I kind of know you just by the time I've been on this board. Whatever you do, it's your day and enjoy.
