Not sure if this is where I am to post this question (asking as it is non-quilting related

I am looking for " Needle Tatting Patterns" and have not had much luck. Is there someone out there that does tatting and has a link for me to view or patterns that they could share with me. I do have a few (patterns) that I have made & could trade

I haven't tatted since I was a child and an elderly aunt supervised me. I found the following websites with free patterns to check out:

Ooh! I see you do needle tatting. What I was taught was shuttle tatting. Some of the websites I posted say the patterns are adaptable to needle tatting. Found these websites that are specific to needle tatting:

Thank you soooo much for posting these links....wow, am I going to be busy tatting these different patterns. You are so appreciated for leading me to these links. I am not sure what I am doing wrong when I "google" for these links and did not get to...but have bookmarked now! Shuttle tatting patterns and needle are pretty much the same ( I have no problems reading the patterns and everything I have read should beable to make

Free step by step tutorials. I think every one of my patterns are just as easy to do in needletatting. I use only basic stitches which are the same in both shuttle and needletatting. Hope you come visit.

I learned needletatting a couple of months ago. I don't prefer it but wanted to see if I could reproduce my patterns using the needle. I had no trouble.

I see all these patterns that say "cut and tie"...what's the best way to do that? I learned to shuttle tat a few years ago, but don't do much because I have so much trouble with the tying...HELP!

I have some difficult with that also, I do cut & tie leaving a little extra string...thread into a needle and pull the ends through my tatting piece to bury the lose thread. However, maybe "tattypatty" has something she can post to help us out. I will see if one of my books that I bought at class has anything and will get that information to you. Are you a shuttle or needle tat?

That would be great...any help would be way more than I have now. I do shuttle tatting. I can make some pretty good designs, as long as I don't have to tie. Those patterns are few and far between. I suppose at some point I'll need to learn other more advanced techniques also, but first I just really want to be able to end my pieces LOL!

The best way I can suggest is what most of you are already doing. Leave a good length of thread and thread a needle - then work the thread back thru the pattern. I then cut the thread put a drop of glue for material on the end of the thread. I hope you visit my blog. There are several free patterns already on there. Its brand new and its specially for new tatters but some veteran tatters are also enjoying it.
